Painted by artist Crosby Jack @Crosby_Jack, whose art style is best described as “Street Meets Monet!” Not only is he a gifted artist, but he’s a gardening genius, a former cheesemaker, an entrepreneur, and one of the kindest folks you’ll ever meet. His art can often be found hanging in Bar Margaret in West Greenville. His inspiration for Howard was his own amazing garden, plus the small town of Zalipie, Poland, where he and his wife visited. Traditionally, the women of Zalipie, Poland, would paint their houses anew every year to look like colorful fields of wildflowers!
Artist Crosby Jack @Crosby_Jack previewed “Howard the Piano” during our interview with Ava Braatz! Yes, he wore his best kilt to introduce his Zalipie-inspired piano to the world! Find Crosby’s work on display at Bar Margaret and on his social media! And stop by to play Howard at Swamp Rabbit Cafe anytime!
Artist David Gerhard @DavidGerhard gets a lift from his former Governor’s School students behind “Bauerney West the Piano” during Bauerney’s unveiling at Carolina Bauernhaus! David’s art was inspired by his own great times with his three children spent on farms out west as well as the piano’s placement at farm-based brewery Carolina Bauernhaus in WEST Greenville! (Did you catch Barney’s last name there?😉) Stop by to play Bauerney at Carolina Bauernhaus during their regular operating hours.
Artist Courtney Lewis @Christ_Chums gives us a peek at her work-in-progress (NOW FINISHED!), Chuckles the Piano, which she painted at its host location, The Artistry Gallery. Courtney endured with us through lots of growing pains as she was one of the first artists to join our program, and she was never anything but an absolute delight. We could not be happier than to have her onboard as one of our esteemed artists!
Artist Courtney Lewis @Christ_Chums painted Chuckles, our stunningly upbeat and inviting piano! Chuckles resides inside The Artistry Workshops and Gallery at 12 Andrews Street, Greenville! Check him out and tickle his ivories during regular operating hours at The Artistry Gallery. And be sure to say hello to Ryan Calloway, who owns The Artistry Workshops and Gallery and Creative Ironworks, where he crafts in-demand custom ironwork for his lucky clients! Ryan is an avid supporter of the arts, the GVL music scene, and our program, plus he’s just cool!
